Sustainability at Our School
At Ludlow Primary School, we are deeply committed to sustainability and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. We take a proactive approach to reducing our environmental impact through a variety of initiatives, including recycling, energy-efficient lighting, reduced paper usage, and the promotion of reusable materials. We also encourage eco-friendly travel to and from school and maintain green spaces that support biodiversity. Through these efforts, we aim to lead by example and inspire our whole community to contribute to a more sustainable future.
Becoming a zero carbon school isn’t just about our environmental impact, it’s about preparing our students for a sustainable future, creating healthier learning environments, and showing leadership in our community.
Taking action on sustainability benefits schools in many ways:
- Financially: Reducing energy use cuts bills.
- Educationally: Climate action enriches the curriculum and builds skills for future careers.
- Environmentally: It protects local ecosystems and helps meet national climate targets.
- Wellbeing: Greener spaces support physical and mental health.
- Adaptation: Climate ready schools are able to be more resilient to current and future climate impacts.
