Ludlow Primary School is a Safer School by taking the responsible approach towards ensuring a safer & more secure environment for its pupils, staff & visitors.
West Mercia Police created the Safer Schools initiative in 1996. By coincidence, this was the year of the Dunblane school tragedy. Today, Shropshire Council lead the initiative with the support and involvement of West Mercia Police. 140 Shropshire schools have been accredited a Safer School and to this day, nearly all of these schools continue the risk management approach to security/safety. A large proportion of these schools have been involved for over 15 years. For more detailed information of the initiative, please open the link to the PDF below.
